“TAMING OF THE SHREW” by William Shakespeare
CCTC chose the “Taming of the Shrew” for their first production based on their feeling that their interpretation will be a crowd pleaser. Starring Matt Williamson as Petruchio and Iris McQuillan-Grace as Kate, “Shrew” is one of Shakespeare’s best – known comedies/plays. While some believe the theme is a man who tames an outspoken, angry woman, Crown City believes it is a romance about a woman who falls in love with a man, who believes he is taming her – only she finds a more subtle way to tame him. In the end, mutual love and respect develops for one of Shakespeare’s most witty and headstrong couples.

A PRAYER FOR MY DAUGHTER BY THOMAS BABE
(First played at Joseph Papp's Public Theater in New York 1978)
Dark, gritty, crime drama
about 2 corrupt detectives
interrogating
2 murder suspects...
Its bizarre, poetic quality and edgy dialogue make this a play to remember. Almost all the characters display both their masculine and feminine sides as part of a game of manipulation as someone is going down for murder and no one is leaving the precinct. Not even Detective Kelly, who's daughter may be on the verge of suicide.
